Max has 18 years’ experience in restructuring consulting, helping distressed companies respond to challenging circumstances quickly and effectively. He has particular expertise in reorganizing operational structures, setting up new capital arrangements, and plotting a course in the face of financial insolvency.
In situations where executives are considering ownership changes, Max guides efforts to evaluate merger-and-acquisition possibilities, conduct due diligence assessments, and smooth postmerger integration. An expert witness, he also has experience with litigation and dispute resolution.
In the course of his consulting career, Max has worked in a range of sectors, including paper and packaging products, shipping and logistics, retail and fashion, tourism, construction and machinery, and the automotive-supplier industry.
His restructuring experience prior to joining McKinsey includes:
- defining and implementing restructuring concepts for several automotive suppliers
- restructuring a tourism group
- designing a restructuring concept and guiding its implementation for a leading press fastener and haberdashery company and several retail groups in fashion, consumer electronics, and do-it-yourself
- establishing a restructuring and recapitalization concept for a top-5 container-liner shipping company
