About Max

Max is a seasoned founder, business builder, and product manager, and coleads McKinsey’s business building work within consumer packaged goods and retail. With more than 20 years of experience at the cross-section of business, technology, and design, he is positioned to help companies create successful and sustainable new businesses.

Examples of Max’s recent experiences include:

  • launching a new direct-to-consumer, ecommerce-first skincare business within six weeks
  • building a new direct-to-consumer business for a leading global appliance manufacturer
  • launching a new ecommerce channel for a major European grocery retailer as chief product officer
  • leading the ecommerce and omnichannel acceleration for one of the largest German furniture retailers

Prior to joining McKinsey, Max was managing director and design director at a leading multinational digital product consultancy and has led agile, cross-functional teams to create new products and services for many of the world's most recognizable brands.

Max founded several technology firms, and he created and led the first interaction design program at renowned college of art and design Central Saint Martins in London. He mentors startups across Europe, and is a fellow of Higher Education Academy of Great Britain.
