About Matthew

Matthew is a leader in our Risk and Financial Services Practices. He divides his time between helping banks develop and execute enterprise-wide transformations and supporting risk groups in improving efficiency and effectiveness.

Matthew’s work with banks has extended from the redesign of commercial credit processes and controls frameworks to the digitization of customer journeys to deliver an enhanced user experience at a lower cost.

Examples of his recent client projects include the following:

  • supporting a multiyear transformation at a regional bank that improved its efficiency ratio by 7 percent
  • working with a large North American bank to implement zero-based risk and compliance functions, identifying the design choices that drive complexity and, in the process, uncovering an approximate 20 percent opportunity
  • helping a large regional bank increase the efficiency and effectiveness of its risk function and reduce overhead by 20 percent
  • conducting a bottom-up opportunity diagnostic at a regional bank
  • advising on an end-to-end regulatory preparedness assessment for a regional bank
  • supporting a detailed redesign of a commercial credit process that drove a 60 percent reduction in time to decision and a 15 percent increase in pull-through rate

Matthew began his career as an analyst with a multinational investment bank and financial services company and an investment-management company.
