About Jürgen

Dr. Jürgen Meffert is a senior partner in McKinsey’s Düsseldorf office. Jürgen was the global leader of McKinsey’s Telecommunication, Media, & Technology Practice from 2006 to 2014 and now leads McKinsey’s digital B2B work at the global level. He was also the founder and leader of McKinsey’s start-up initiative to focus on serving medium-size companies.

As a senior partner at McKinsey, Jürgen serves several of the world’s leading telecommunications, technology equipment, and media companies. His recent work has centered on several large-scale multiyear transformation programs, including restructuring and turnaround, value creation, post-merger management, and digital transformations. His client work ranges from growth/innovation strategy and business-building programs to functional business transformations in marketing, sales, and operations. His core area of expertise includes digital end-to-end transformation in the B2B space.

Jürgen’s client portfolio, which includes telecoms (fixed and mobile), technology-equipment manufacturers, software-application providers, machinery and industrial original-equipment manufacturers, and media companies, spans Europe, Japan, Latin America, India, South Africa, South Korea, and the United States.

Jürgen has been invited as a guest speaker at a number of technology and business forums. He has also published and authored several books on strategy, innovation management, and Germany’s medium-size companies, and has published numerous articles in various publications, including McKinsey’s globally distributed telecommunication, media, and technology periodical.
