As part of McKinsey’s Center for Future of Mobility and the Travel, Transport & Logistics Practice, Jan Tijs supports public and private organizations throughout the mobility ecosystem to reset strategy in the light of major mobility trends and challenges.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • conducting a review of the mobility-as-a-service strategy for an urban-transit player
  • drafting a 2030 vision on the national public-transit network for four major rail and urban-transit operators, including the role of mobility-as-a-service platforms
  • creating a medium-term strategy for a national rail operator, conducting an in-depth analysis on its role in multimodal transport and future network development, maintenance, and sustainability
  • developing an e-mobility strategy for a major oil and gas company, identifying charging opportunities
  • crafting a long-term strategy for a European hub airport, with in-depth analysis on future transport technology and sustainable growth
  • articulating a long-term strategy for a car-lease and rental-vehicle company, including how to capture value from future mobility trends (such as autonomous driving, electric vehicles, and ride sharing)
  • defining an operating model and channel strategy for a car-lease company’s business unit that resells used cars
