About Gonzalo

Gonzalo is one of McKinsey’s digital-banking leaders in Mexico, focusing on helping clients achieve digital transformations. His client work has centered on retail and wholesale banking, insurance, and asset management, serving financial institutions in Mexico, Central America, and North America.

Gonzalo’s recent work includes helping institutions in Central and North America develop their long-term strategies. For example, helping a major Central American bank develop a five-year strategic plan and go-to-market strategy, including digital goals, for its retail, wholesale, and development bank business units. He also helped a North American asset manager develop its Mexican market-entry strategy.

Gonzalo also works with clients on strengthening their performance, helping a major Latin-American bank’s retail and wholesale divisions structure their performance management and incentive system. For a leading microfinance institution in Mexico, he helped establish their goals, assess their capability platform, and define their innovation initiatives.

Gonzalo has also supported clients with transformation efforts and to prepare for the digital future, including designing the digital strategy and transformation for a major insurance company in Mexico. Additionally, he led the transformation of a Latin American bank’s retail business unit following a client-segmentation effort and assisted with a cost-reduction transformation effort for a major US insurance company.

In addition to his client work, Gonzalo promotes the development of digital knowledge in the region and is one of the key points of contact for digital-related events, such as hackathons, in Mexico.
