About Giancarlo

Over the years, Giancarlo has served enterprises across multiple industries in major transformations. At McKinsey, he is an expert in change-management processes—including turnarounds, integrations, and globalization—for complex environments and in designing and realizing large-scale operational-improvement programs

Giancarlo is currently a member of our Global Client Council, a group of 25 senior McKinsey client leaders who represent and mobilize the firm in high-priority client situations.

From 2011 to 2016, he was the leader of McKinsey’s advanced-industries sectors—including aerospace and defense, automotive and assembly, machinery and plant engineering, and industrial electronics—in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Previously, for six years Giancarlo had led the Organization Practice in EMEA, including work in organizational design, organizational behavior, performance transformations, and merger management. He has also served on global leadership teams in the energy and transportation sectors and led the development and dissemination of McKinsey’s know-how in performance transformations globally.

Giancarlo is a former rally-car racer, a renowned competitive sailor, and a passionate skier.
