About Gaia

Gaia is an expert associate partner in McKinsey’s Milan office who supports clients in transforming their organizations, improving their performance, and managing change. She brings deep implementation expertise to her work on operational excellence, lean management, and capability building. Through her strong people-leadership skills, she helps large organizations engage and mobilize their workforce to achieve sustainable long-term impact.

Gaia works across sectors, including advanced industries, energy, financial services, and infrastructure. Some of her recent client projects include the following:

  • helping a major European infrastructure group upskill more than 4,000 employees for a digital environment as part of a transformation that delivered cost savings in excess of €150 million
  • supporting a major energy-and-materials company with a large-scale cultural transformation involving 500 employees that lasted for 18 months
  • working with a railway-infrastructure operator on a comprehensive logistics transformation that included digitizing procurement processes and rationalizing the physical network. She helped deliver overall improvements of 30 percent in service levels, 20 percent in material stocks, and 40 percent in lead times
  • advising a major Italian bank on a lean digital transformation and the introduction of agile working methods, which resulted in an average 30 percent improvement in lead times and 25 percent gain in efficiency

Before joining McKinsey, Gaia spent two years as an engineer with the Kaizen Institute, followed by a role as a knowledge expert at EFESO Consulting. She holds a master of science in engineering management from the Polytechnic University of Milan.
