About Gabriel

Gabriel, a leader in McKinsey’s global Financial Services Practice, directs our work on banking risk management in Asia. He serves global financial institutions and insurance companies, as well as regional and local banks across Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States. Gabriel advises clients on issues ranging from strategy and risk to digital banking and digital ecosystems.

Drawing on more than 20 years of experience, Gabriel helps clients develop the strategies and tools to respond to evolving regulatory standards and fluctuating financial markets. He has designed segment- and market-specific risk policies, credit processes, and capital standards—as well as Basel II and Basel III strategies—for major banks.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • helping a leading international bank set up its overall risk infrastructure
  • developing innovative business models leveraging advanced credit solutions for a leading Southeast Asian institution
