Erem is a seasoned transformation leader who has spent the past 20 years in senior executive roles, both as global managing director and global head of strategy in organizations across a wide range of sectors including consumer, retail, apparel, luxury, arts and culture, and hospitality. Erem’s strength lies in working with CEOs to encourage ambitious growth plans in close collaboration with executive leadership teams.

Erem’s experience before joining McKinsey includes the following:

  • global managing director of a leading art-and-luxury auction company responsible for growth into private sales and online channels, pioneering expansion into Asia, leading professionalization of art sourcing and selling practices, customer retention and acquisition, digital innovation, and customer insights
  • managing director in the United Kingdom for a leading haircare company owned by private equity
  • managing director of a division of pubs and a restaurant chain owned by private equity. Developed growth programs focused on pricing, food-offer development, staff retention, and refurbishment plans
  • investment and operating director of a leading midcap European private-equity fund focused on active investment and value creation
  • repositioning of a major North American health-and-beauty chain through growth of private label, development of new store concepts, merchandizing, pricing, and category-management improvements
  • consolidating the global high-end travel sector for private-equity sponsor, creating a significant industry company

Erem has served as nonexecutive director on boards of start-up companies in the healthy eating, hospitality, and social impact sectors. She is on the advisory board for a sports, arts, and cultural talent organization targeting youth, which is part of the Aga Khan Foundation.
