About Elizabeth

Since joining McKinsey, Liz has advised leading private and public-sector institutions on how to achieve lasting impact of their strategies. She specializes in change management, with a focus on how to embed change management, organizational health and culture, and capability building into performance transformations.

Drawing on her transformation expertise, Liz is a core leader of McKinsey’s Impact and Capability Building Accelerator—the firm’s growth platform focused on helping clients deliver sustainable impact while building the capabilities of their people.

Outside of client work, Liz is deeply passionate about the issue of diversity and inclusion. She is the partner champion for McKinsey Black Network in the Northeast.

Examples of her recent client work include the following:

  • implementing multifaceted reform for a large correctional agency, combining advanced analytics, capability building, and cultural change, resulting in a dramatic reduction in violent incidents and substantial improvement in organizational health
  • assisting a leading global nongovernmental organization with its signature reform efforts by architecting a change-management approach and defining key elements for the transformation
  • developing the capability building and change management plan for a leading US bank moving to an agile operating model
  • devising a strategy for a leading asset manager acquiring a competitor, including due diligence, integrated operating-model planning, and new governance approach
  • transforming critical go-to-market elements for a top payments company, including a new operating model, sales-compensation plan, and HR support model

Before joining McKinsey, Liz was an officer in the US Army with two year-long tours in Iraq, where she served on the senior staff of General David Petraeus as a speechwriter. She also spent time as a company commander, operations officer, and personnel officer while in uniform.

Liz is a presidential appointee to the US Military Academy board of visitors. She’s also an active volunteer at Fox Meadow Elementary School and St. James the Less Church in Scarsdale, New York.
