About Ed

Ed leads our transformation services work in Southeast Asia (SEA). He advises energy, materials, and industrial companies, as well as stakeholders in infrastructure development. His primary focus is on large-scale, holistic transformations of both companies and mega-projects in Asia. He regularly leads complex transformations that address: strategic direction in times of uncertainty and/or duress, a step-change improvement to core performance, digital, and growth strategies—including mergers and acquisitions.

In addition to advising clients, Ed takes interim management positions in companies, leading transformations on the ground and coaching client teams. Some recent examples of his client work include:

  • supporting the transformation of a leading Southeast Asia (SEA) integrated refinery and petrochemicals plant–here, Ed led the McKinsey transformation team and also coached the client’s chief transformation officer
  • assisting with the turnaround of a struggling SEA chemicals company
  • advising on the digital transformation of a large SEA chemicals company
  • supporting the rapid acceleration of the construction of a mega-project in North Asia
  • leading the transformation of the European business unit of an upstream oil company and serving as the chief transformation officer.

Before joining McKinsey , Ed held various roles in the UK public sector, both in London and internationally.
