About David

David leads integrated at-scale transformations, partnering with executive teams to substantially improve their performance and build capabilities for their futures. Over the last decade at McKinsey, David has helped clients transform their operations, many times evolving lean management systems to include integrated at-scale approaches to digital and analytics. In financial services, David has served brokers, life and annuities carriers, property-and-casualty insurers, health insurers, credit card companies, banks, and multi-line insurers. David has held many leadership roles within McKinsey’s Financial Services and Operations practices, specifically our work in service operations. He currently convenes our insurance-productivity work in North America which focuses on integrated approaches to transformation including operations, digital, and analytics.

David has led several efforts within Michigan and Detroit communities focused on improving lives and livelihoods; including economic development, workforce development—such as upskilling and reskilling—education, and support for small and medium-sized businesses.

Growing up in Metro Detroit, David became an avid Red Wings fan. He attended the University of Michigan where he studied industrial and operations engineering. Upon graduation, David joined McKinsey’s Operations Practice in Los Angeles. He went to business school at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and then re-joined McKinsey’s Chicago office. David and his wife Maureen now live in the Detroit area where they enjoy travel and many Michigan activities along with their 3 kids, including biking, golf, hockey, sailing, and skiing.
