Clemens is a partner in our Santiago office and leads the McKinsey Sustainability in Latin America and also helps companies in sustainability topics throughout the region.

  • developing a bottom-up roadmap to accelerate the hydrogen industry in Chile with a consortium of 30 companies across the value chain, focusing on production cost estimation, domestic and export opportunities, and concrete initiatives to overcome main barriers
  • leading the definition of the net-zero pathway for a multinational retail chain in Latin America
  • building the business case for playing offense in sustainability for a chemicals company
  • optimizing design and configuration of a GW-scale green hydrogen and ammonia-production plant in Latin America
  • developing the most economic pathway for a Latin American country to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, defining an overall positive economic case on a national level
  • developing the decarbonization pathways for Scope 1 emissions for a multinational mining company in Latin America
  • developing the plan for a mining company to become carbon neutral by 2030, analyzing emissions across the value chain such as electrification of processes and alternative fuels for mobile equipment and transport
  • leading the development of the sustainability strategy of a chemicals company to turn sustainability in a competitive advantage, across all environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions
