About Cameron

Cameron is a partner in McKinsey’s Melbourne office. His professional focus is on driving large-scale transformation, and he has worked on a number of turnaround, restructuring, and performance-improvement engagements across Asia, Australia, Europe, and New Zealand. In addition, Cameron has served private-equity and industry clients on due-diligence assignments across multiple industries, and he leads our work in external spend for recovery and transformations, globally.

As a cofounder of McKinsey's RTS practice, Cameron brings great passion and extensive expertise to driving radical performance transformation. He has helped clients to deliver material improvement in performance and in organizational health across a range of industry sectors, including resources (precious metals/minerals, and primary metals and bulks), metals (steel and aluminum), banking, high-tech/telco, infrastructure, and manufacturing.

Examples of Cameron’s recent client work include:

  • serving as interim chief procurement officer at an Australia-based metals producer; overseeing external spend, including renegotiation of major contracts
  • leading a transformation of a distressed global coal-mining company, focussing on external spend, labour, and operational productivity
  • leading a comprehensive transformation of a multinational gold-mining company
  • leading the transformation of a major European steel manufacturer

Prior to joining McKinsey, Cameron was general manager of operations for Australia’s leading supplier of engineering machine tools, overseeing operations in South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia. Previously, Cameron held the role of chief financial officer. Cameron is a member of the Melbourne Business School’s Board of Directors and advises on strategic issues.
