About Andrew

Andrew coleads Digital Business Building for McKinsey in Asia. For more than a decade, he has worked at the intersection of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.

From strategic design, end-to-end customer experience, and agile transformation to digital business building and innovation, Andrew serves clients on a range of issues. For example, he recently helped a leading telecommunications company in Asia design and deliver a digital wallet. A new venture, the e-wallet acquired more than 500,000 users in the first months. For a large telecommunications company in Southeast Asia, he designed an agile operating model for a popular product with ten million active users per month. The new operating model spanned product management and delivery. In addition to large companies, he serves start-up and new-venture clients across Southeast Asia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Andrew joined McKinsey in 2017, when the venture that he cofounded and led, VLT Labs, was acquired by the firm. At VLT Labs, he helped numerous start-ups launch and scale in Southeast Asia. He also advised innovation labs or business units within larger corporations on how to build and launch new digital businesses. Andrew has extensive experience in innovation and design, having worked for companies such as NESTA, IDEO, Samsung, and Intel. An electrical engineer by training, he began his career as a designer and architect for next-generation, high-speed interconnect technology at Intel, and in the process, he secured several patents.

Andrew’s enthusiasm for innovation is reflected in his frequent and numerous investments in early-stage technology start-ups.
