About Andrea

Andrea serves clients in completing large-scale digital transformations. Together with company leaders, he utilizes opportunities to add digital channels to businesses and build powerful big data applications. Going beyond that, he helps shape entirely new digital ventures that are rapidly enabled and then easily transferred back into the core business.

Under his leadership, the digital team in EMEA has grown to more than 400 digital designers, architects, developers, and other experts based in studios in London, Berlin, and Abu Dhabi. As a member of the advisory group that oversees McKinsey’s acquisitions and partnerships in the digital space, Andrea is always looking for specialized tools and expertise to enhance our work globally. Andrea also has a home in our Telecom, Media, and High Tech Practice.

Given his long-standing advisory work with banks and telecom providers, Andrea often works with companies in these sectors to find digital opportunities, explore possible acquisitions, boost the effectiveness of digital marketing, and optimize the IT platform. He also aids clients in setting and realizing comprehensive digital strategies. For instance, he recently designed and helped launch a B2B app store offering for a European incumbent telecom operator where the same digital marketplace concept common to consumer devices has been extended to specific SME needs (e.g., accounting, cash register).

Before joining McKinsey, Andrea spent six years at multinational corporations, where he got first-hand experience in sales, e-commerce, and product development.  These early career experiences sparked a passion for expert project management that was expanded upon with a certification from the Project Management Institute.
