About Althea

For two decades, Althea has partnered with apparel and retail executives as they pursue broad-based performance transformations. Her areas of focus include setting top-level corporate strategy and pursuing greater effectiveness in core areas such as merchandising, store operations, and supply chain.

In a rapidly changing and competitive global environment, Althea helps retail and apparel companies evaluate fundamental strategic options about where and how to compete and helps to build organizational capabilities for the future. Given the importance of strong financial performance, she also designs programs that close operational performance gaps while setting the stage for sustainable growth.

Examples of her recent client work include the following:

  • driving a multiyear roadmap to embed advanced analytics across the business for a global apparel brand, including piloting initial use cases, designing and building a new analytics organization, and enabling analytics through data architecture and governance initiatives
  • leading a major transformation program for a global multibrand apparel company to drive growth and improve profitability, including optimizing digital marketing, merchandising, planning, and supply chain performance
  • guiding improvements to the product development and sourcing processes for an apparel manufacturer, including shortening the product lifecycle calendar and reducing the cost of goods sold
  • leading a store operations improvement program for an apparel retailer that achieved savings from in-store process changes and increased sales conversion through stronger consumer engagement

Before joining McKinsey, Althea was a partner at a global management consulting firm. A recognized retail industry expert, she has contributed insights to trade publications and at industry gatherings. She was recently a featured panelist at one of the fashion industry’s most comprehensive trade shows. Althea has lived in China and speaks conversational Mandarin.
