About Alexander

Alexander leads McKinsey Digital and our commercial work in Africa, the CIS, the Middle East, and Turkey. He focuses on transformations and growth programs in private companies and public-sector institutions. Alexander was a pioneer in applying advanced analytics and digital business building to solve the challenges of large corporations. He also leads our ecosystem of start-ups and technology firms in Europe and the Middle East.

Examples of his recent client projects include the following:

  • designing and implementing a big data transformation for a leading telecommunications company, tripling its customer-value-management revenues
  • leading a holistic transformation of a top consumer-goods company, adding 25 percent to its profitability
  • driving operational improvements through advanced analytics for a mining company, resulting in a 20 percent increase in profitability
  • developing and implementing a profitability improvement program (using artificial intelligence) for a leading agricultural company, resulting in a 15 percent increase in profitability
  • transforming a financial institution and introducing a new digital-product portfolio
  • launching ten new digital services for a public-sector institution
  • designing and leading a merger of two major technology companies, resulting in a market capitalization increase of 20 percent

Prior to joining McKinsey, Alexander oversaw acquisitions and asset turnarounds in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for international private-equity funds. He also managed sales and operations for a global cosmetics company.
