Alex has substantial experience in serving healthcare payers and integrated-delivery systems on issues related to growth, pharmacy strategy, government healthcare programs, payer–provider collaboration in population-health management, and medical and pharmaceutical cost reduction. He is a core leader of McKinsey’s pharmacy-domain and healthcare-value work. He also coleads the firm’s near-term value-capture work in healthcare analytics.
Some examples of Alex’s recent client work include the following:
- leading Medicare-growth programs for regional payers
- developing and implementing pharmacies’ management and growth strategies, including on access management, strategic joint ventures and partnerships, and commercialization
- guiding the strategic partnership and clinical joint venture between a large regional payer and an integrated-delivery system
- developing and implementing a large regional Medicaid care organization’s pharmacy-spend-optimization program, including formulary optimization, pharmacy-benefit-manager-contract revision, and utilization management
- directing diagnostic and value-capture efforts for multiple medical-cost-reduction programs for national and regional payers as well as integrated-delivery systems
