About Alex

Alex is a member of the European Banking Practice based in Bucharest. Having joined McKinsey in early 2011, he has held an array of roles within the firm. He has also served diverse range of leading clients in the banking sector, both at home and abroad.

Some of his recent client-related work includes:

  • coordinating the multi-year digital transformation program of a leading Czech retail bank
  • supporting end-to-end corporate credit process redesign for an Eastern European global bank
  • supporting the digitization of savings products for a leading Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) retail bank
  • designing the comprehensive commercial strategy for small business for a large Eastern European segment
  • coordinating McKinsey’s proprietary banking-market benchmarking survey for Romania
  • developing a turnaround strategy for a CEE retail bank, including sensitivity analysis and implementation preparation
  • supporting the design and setup of an internal separation of a CEE bank’s “Good” and “Bad” portfolios
  • supporting the design of an operational and financial model for an internal “bad” bank, and its subsequent implementation, on behalf of a leading CEE universal bank
  • reviewing the credit policy and infrastructure for a Luxembourg-based private bank

Alex is a CFA charter holder. He previously worked as a management consultant for Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and as an investment banker for Raiffeisen Bank.
