Alberto rejoined McKinsey in 2018 as a partner in McKinsey Digital, having previously worked at the firm from 1994 to 2004. During these years he cofounded the firm’s Silicon Valley office, where he was elected partner.

He has held leadership roles at various technology companies across Europe and Silicon Valley, where he gained expertise in strategy and product, and general management knowledge in technology businesses from consumer devices to augmented reality to enterprise software.

Since his return he leads the firm’s software work across Europe. He is passionate about growth, product excellence, M&A and partnerships and has led projects in these areas for both established leaders and emerging organizations. He also coleads LEAP—our digital business build offering—in Iberia, where he has helped launch various successful businesses.

Alberto has a bachelor's and master's degree from Simón Bolivar University in Venezuela, and a doctorate in computer science from Stanford University with a focus on artificial intelligence and databases. Alberto is Spanish but grew up in Venezuela and has spent the last thirty years living in the United States, the United Kingdom, Finland, France, and Canada.
