Shifting globalization

Retreat or simply evolution: How is globalization changing?

Questions continue about the state of globalization, and MGI's research was a part of that conversation. We continue to explore the increasing prominence of data globalization after publishing a major report on this topic, Digital globalization: The new era of global flows, which we published in 2016. Recently, MGI's main lens on globalization was financial. In the latest in our ongoing series on the evolution of financial markets in countries around the world, we took the temperature of financial globalization ten years on from the global financial crisis, flows of capital between markets, and the increasing role of digital technologies in the world of finance.

We have presented this research at the G20 Eminent Persons Group for Global Financial Governance and at the World Bank and World Economic Forum meeting on Achieving Inclusive Economic Development held in Washington, DC.
