Diana Farrell
Led MGI from 2002–2008 and was a director of the McKinsey Center for Government. Served as deputy director of the US National Economic Council and deputy assistant to the president for economic policy under President Obama. Most recently, she was the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of the JPMorgan Chase Institute. Currently is an independent director and trustee of various organizations, including The Pew Charitable Trusts, eBay, Urban Institute, the National Bureau of Economic Research, and the National Academies of Sciences’ Committee on National Statistics.
Ted Hall
Former director of McKinsey, led knowledge building efforts and had a 27-year career at the firm. He co-founded MGI and later served as its chairman.
Eric Labaye
Former senior partner, office leader for France, and chair of MGI until 2018, where he led the Firm's knowledge-building efforts. He served as chairman and president of the École Polytechnique in Paris and is currently the president and co-founder of IDEL Partners, chairman of the supervisory board of Ekimetrics, senior advisor at Antin Infrastructure Partners, independent member of the board of Rexel, and chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Investments for the Future in France.
William Lewis
Was a partner of McKinsey for 20 years and co-founding director of MGI from its founding in 1990 until his retirement from McKinsey in 2001.

Sir Charles Roxburgh
Former London-based director of MGI and McKinsey senior partner. He also served as Director General of Financial Services at HM Treasury and as Second Permanent Secretary to the Treasury and is currently chair of Lloyds.
Lola Woetzel
Co-founded McKinsey's China office where she worked with Chinese and global businesses and served as a director of MGI from 2013-2025. She is currently a Visiting Professor of Global China Studies and Business at NYU and a Distinguished Visiting Faculty at the Schwarzman Scholars Program at Tsinghua University. She serves on the boards of Delterra, Tianjin Juilliard and Project Drawdown.
