About Hitoshi

Hitoshi is a partner of our Tokyo office and a core leader for Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice. He consults a broad CFO agenda, including portfolio strategy, capital strategy, investor relations, cash management, budgeting and control, M&A and joint venture/alliance.

Hitoshi has worked extensively with heavy industries & IT conglomerates in Japan and across Asia.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • supporting a development and execution of a drastic turnaround strategy for Japanese heavy industries + IT conglomerate
  • helping a corporate-wide cash transformation for Japanese IT conglomerate over a two-year journey
  • guiding a new business development and carve-out strategy in Silicon Valley for Japanese company
  • advising a 5-year capital strategy for Japanese heavy industries

Hitoshi is passionate about working with a client to drive major transformation for growth, for example, business portfolio, organization/reporting line, cash management. He has published research and spoke on these topics extensively at management gatherings, such as the Keidanren Seminars.

Hitoshi has served on a wide range of corporate finance topics—including capital strategy, acquisition and alliance, working capital optimization—throughout the automotive, system-integrator, camera, semiconductor, and other industries.

Before joining McKinsey, Hitoshi worked at J.P. Morgan in Tokyo. He was a core leader of the equity research group and responsible for transportation and telecommunication sectors.
