Leads our People & Organizational Performance Practice in Southeast Asia; helps clients across the region deliver sustained performance at scale through an integrated approach to lasting change, culture, talent, and leadership

Phillia is the leader of McKinsey’s People & Organizational Performance Practice in Southeast Asia, and is the first Indonesian woman to lead this practice. She was previously the managing partner for our Indonesian offices and led multiple companies across public and private sectors in the region. Under her leadership, the Jakarta office grew significantly in both operations and employees: 80 percent of all colleagues hired under her oversight were Indonesian, and 30 percent were women.

Currently, Phillia oversees the breadth of McKinsey’s executive and frontline capabilities, which are required to deliver impact at scale. This includes work done via McKinsey Academy and Aberkyn and Orphoz, both of which are McKinsey companies.

Her years of client work extend across sectors—telecommunications, private equity, and industrial resources—and her leadership and expertise in developing talent strategies and capacity-building initiatives have helped thousands of business and government executives hone and expand their leadership skills. She has helped organizations achieve fundamental and lasting shifts in mindsets and behaviors resulting in competitive advantages and enduring value.

Her recent work includes the following:

  • working with large conglomerates in the region to define environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies while orchestrating implementation across groups
  • helping a telecom operator in Southeast Asia renew its strategic masterplan against the backdrop of digital technology adoption, supporting the redefining of a new corporate structure while navigating organizational implications, and launching a new digital business in record time
  • advising a national railway operator in Southeast Asia to define its digitally enabled transformation strategy to create more efficient passenger operation, freight business expansion, and various other digital use cases

Phillia is an active promoter of an initiative to grow Indonesia’s emerging economy. She sits on the global board of Delterra, a McKinsey-founded not-for-profit organization aiming to transform the ecosystem of recycling and waste management. She is also a cofounder of Young Leaders for Indonesia, a program initiated by McKinsey, where she also helps organize efforts aimed at unleashing the leadership capacity of high-performing university students.

Phillia was named Fortune Indonesia’s “Most Powerful Women 2022.”
