About Mayven

Mayven helps lead McKinsey’s banking work in Southeast Asia. He serves financial institutions in emerging markets on issues related to strategy, operations, digital, and analytics transformations. His clients include retail banks, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), insurance companies, and other financial firms. Prior to moving to Southeast Asia, Mayven spent nine years in our Johannesburg office. In addition to serving financial institutions across sub-Saharan Africa, he has supported several global firms in developing market-entry and growth strategies for Africa.

Mayven frequently helps banks develop and implement digital and analytics strategies that transform their business and operating models.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • leading an end-to-end performance-improvement transformation for a regional banking group
  • supporting the comprehensive digital transformation of a local insurer, including at-scale, agile capability building
  • implementing advanced-analytics technologies, including machine learning, to drive targeted micro-campaigns at a retail bank
  • advising a bank on how to revise its value propositions and product offerings for affluent and SME clients to ensure growth in market share
  • supporting a large universal bank on lean IT transformation
  • helping a client implement a sales-force effectiveness program across its corporate and retail businesses

Prior to joining McKinsey, Mayven spent three years working in a global consumer goods company’s South Africa office, where he was responsible for supply-chain delivery and operations.
