Executives around the globe have shown increased optimism about their domestic economies compared with just a few months earlier, according to a December 2025 McKinsey survey. Senior Partner Sven Smit and coauthors note that survey respondents in Greater China and India remain the most optimistic, with more than two-thirds in each region expecting economic conditions to improve in the next six months. Although sentiment has also brightened in North America and Europe, a significant share of executives in those regions still anticipate that conditions may worsen.
