Today is Embrace Your Geekness Day, and it’s worth exploring what a “geek” truly is. In an episode of the Forward Thinking podcast, McKinsey’s Michael Chui chatted with best-selling author, research scientist, and co-founder Andy McAfee, who says that “a geek is anybody who gets properly obsessed with a really hard, deep problem.”

Check out these insights to see how others embrace their “geekness” across industries—medtech, defense, consumer goods, and more—to push the envelope on workplace problem solving and innovation.
