Growth is elusive for many Black-owned brands

Despite rising demand and a clear consumer call for change, Black brands encounter outsize challenges to scaling and meeting the demand. Of the more than 400 US unicorn start-ups in the past decade, less than 2 percent have Black founders.

In a world where brands are growing faster, Black-owned brands face barriers to growth despite starting businesses more than any other ethnic group.
