Time for care means care on time - physician productivity in Sweden

| Report

Swedish doctors spend on average one working day a week on administration. They manage patient logistics and struggle with substandard IT systems - while the time to meet patients is constantly shrinking. The fact that doctors are increasingly working on the wrong things has contributed to the fact that productivity in the Swedish health care system has deteriorated. To clarify the underlying causes of the productivity problems, and to give the doctors' perspective on the situation, McKinsey & Company, together with the Swedish Medical Association, conducted a questionnaire survey. The results are published in this report.
