I started with McKinsey in May 2015 as a category lead within the Optimize Sourcing group, responsible for sourcing and contracting services for anything with wheels (company vehicles and ground transportation). The Optimize Sourcing group provides distinctive, positive, and productive experiences—with services ranging from travel, events, real estate, and sourcing to support, including technology and purchasing.

Thanks to the experience gained, dedication to my role, and commitment to provide impactful solutions to my European colleagues, I am now a senior category lead. I am currently responsible for the implementation of ride hail services (like Uber and Cabify) across our European offices. The work I am doing is part of an exciting new program that aims to create a seamless travel experience for colleagues who travel on a regular basis. My current role allows me to use my strong project management skills, while remaining creative in solving problems as I connect with many colleagues across McKinsey.

Before McKinsey, I worked for some of the biggest companies in IT and ITC—like Ericsson, HP, Oracle, and Vodafone. My previous work experience taught me to maintain a strong work ethic, to be resilient, and to always strive for bettering myself through what I do. At McKinsey, I get to use all of the things I have learnt so far, and the firm provides an environment where I feel my ideas are heard and what I do has real impact. I hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental economics from the Romanian Academy of Economic Studies. I am currently pursuing a project management professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. I am passionate about discovering and learning new things, always trying to better myself and grow as an individual.
