Winston is the managing partner of McKinsey’s Hong Kong office. He is an experienced senior financial executive, previously serving as CFO for two major corporations, and was elected “Best CFO” in Institutional Investor in 2011.
Winston focuses on serving large financial institutions across Greater China on a wide range of issues, including corporate finance, strategy, risk management, organization, operations, and performance management.
Some of his notable client work includes:
- establishing and co-leading McKinsey’s work in serving city and rural commercial banks in China, introducing seven new clients and conducting 15 studies on strategy, organization, performance management, and process redesign
- serving a leading financial conglomerate in Taiwan with US $20 billion in market capitalization by redesigning IT processes, centralizing back-office functions, and leading the transformation of its retail branches
- identifying growth opportunities of more than US $250 million for a major emerging-markets bank in Asia, including profiling and modeling acquisition targets in Hong Kong and Taiwan
Winston serves on the executive committee and the financial and treasury services committee for the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.
Winston speaks Cantonese, Putonghua, and English.
