Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Excellent academic qualifications in mining engineering, mineral processing or related field; MSc preferred
  • 5+ years of work experience in mineral processing in (at least) a major commodity 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work in English (other languages, particularly Spanish or French, also welcome)
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills with proficiency in business software (e.g., Excel, Powerpoint) and advanced analytical packages
  • Experience and knowledge of at least one main processing plant simulation software 
  • Desire to be a critical team member in a rapidly growing business with an entrepreneurial spirit and a keen interest in proactively taking action
  • Significant understanding of the industry dynamics of the mining sector
  • Passion for analytics and interest in developing new approaches to mining data analysis and application to operational improvement
  • Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment with travel to remote mining locations 40%-50%
  • Ability to be stand-alone in senior client settings and present complex value propositions to client executives

Who You'll Work With

You’ll be based in the Toronto or Denver office as part of our global MineLens team.

MineLens provides mining companies with the strategic business intelligence they need to identify, quantify, and prioritize value creation opportunities in their operations. It combines advanced analytics, a comprehensive database of mining performance benchmarks and global mining expertise. 

MineLens is one of the core assets of our Basic Materials practice, therefore, you will be part of a global community of 100+ mining professionals.

What You'll Do

You will act as a reference point for some topics related to our tools & capabilities and your specific areas of expertise. 

In this role you will contribute in developing and delivering new products and capabilities to our clients. You will use your expertise in mineral processing to enhance and run our mining processing plant diagnostic toolkit. Together with a team of analysts, you will lead the overall process, which includes data collection, data analysis, site visit (during which you will provide recommendations based on your expertise) and final delivery of the product to client teams and leadership.

You will also be part of our simulation team which will require you to work on dynamic simulation projects applied to processing plants.
