Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Shanghai office and will be part of the Travel, Logistics and Infrastructure (TLI) practice in our global Client Capabilities Network.
McKinsey's Travel, Logistics and Infrastructure (TLI) practice develops and implements solutions for clients across all industry subsectors. You will work with TLI global experts and local practitioners to serve clients. Our mission is to optimize the flow of people, goods, and associated services around the world. The focus areas of the practice include: travel (aviation, hospitality, passenger rail, etc.), logistics (post, parcel, and express, logistics-3PL, freight forwarding, trucking, and distributors, shipping, freight rail, etc.) and infrastructure (airport, port, rail infra, etc.). We additionally heavily invest in developing state-of-the-art knowledge to drive our clients’ success.

What You'll Do

You will work on client engagements in a number of ways: as part of an engagement team, leading a workstream in area of expertise; providing short-term support delivering key insights in content-focused questions.
You will operate as part of an engagement team, typically consisting of a team of 2-5 consultants led by an engagement manager. You will lead a workstream of client engagement where you will create holistic and sustainable impact. You will apply a broad range of creative problem-solving skills, combining technical and analytical excellence to help solve your piece of the overall client puzzle. You'll synthesize conclusions into recommendations and work directly with senior client leaders to implement change.
You will support the development and maintenance of capabilities (assets, knowledge, tools) and drive complex analyses to provide unique insights for client serving teams and clients directly.
You’ll have the opportunity to gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. You will receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues.
There is flexibility to hire at the Senior Knowledge Analyst or Knowledge Specialist level, depending on candidate experience.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree; advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in the logistics industry and a highly developed understanding of the relevant content area 
  • Advanced business knowledge
  • Solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgment
  • Proven ability to work effectively both in teams and independently; able to work under pressure
  • Proficiency in conversational and business English and Chinese is required
  • Flexibility to travel
