In this role, you will demonstrate expert client service in commodity procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, process improvement, technical and quality, technical sales, or cost management. You will be running operational excellence diagnostics in basic materials, mining, energy, and other sectors to determine potential opportunities for transformation.
You will also work with clients on data processing, quantitative analysis, problem solving, and change management both remotely and on site. You will contribute to client capability training, performance management design and continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will lead to a wholistic digital transformation project in which you will participate in client digital journey design.
In addition, you will participate in product design and development, market and services strategy for new generation products.
You will be based in Shanghai as part of our Optimix team. Optimix is a cloud-based quantitative decision system for agile commodity procurement optimization by data integration and advanced analytics to achieve cost reduction and profit improvement. It has been successfully implemented across energy and basic material sectors.

- Undergraduate degree in industrial engineering, statistics, analytics, chemical engineering, metallurgy engineering, mining or related field
- 5+ years of experience in basic materials (steel, copper, aluminum, paper, etc.), mining, energy or related sectors
- Expert knowledge in manufacturing domain
- Excellent organizational capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion
- Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning
- Ability to create work product-focused materials / outputs, which may include PowerPoint decks, Excel models, articles, or other written deliverables
- Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment
- Ability to work or attend meetings outside of traditional business hours or take on projects with limited or no notice at times
- Ability to travel to and work in varying environments that may be challenging and/or not easily accessible (e.g., factories, mines, etc.)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and local office language(s), with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels
