  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advance degree preferred  
  • 3+ years of experience in audio production or related storytelling experience; focus on factual content is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability in audio storytelling, preferably with business-related content 
  • Passionate about creative ideas for building audience and cross-promotion via social media 
  • Track record of producing innovative, engaging, and complex audio works 
  • Demonstrated skill in working effectively and positively with diverse, creative, and global professionals
  • Deadline-drive, self-motivated, and passionate about pushing creative boundaries in this medium 
  • Strong audio editing skills, including fluency in Protools or Audition 
  • Strong field recording including familiarity with a wide variety of field recording equipment

Who You'll Work With

You will join our global publishing team and be based in the U.S.—preference on our West Coast, New York, Atlanta, or Washington, D.C. office. 
Our team of editors, designers, and producers is responsible for creating compelling multimedia content that highlights McKinsey’s research, analysis, and insights on the trends shaping global business. 
You will work with an editor/host, as well as other editors, partners, and external talent, to create engaging high-quality shows. While your primary focus will be the flagship McKinsey Podcast series—averaging 100k listeners per episode—you will also work with colleagues to create new shows, streamline offerings, and contribute to other projects, as needed. 

What You'll Do

You will leverage your technical production experience to turn topics of interest into a compelling and cohesive podcast series to our global business audience. This will include developing interview guides with editors and subject matter experts, and ensuring episodes are approved, published, and promoted on schedule.
You will brief and coach podcast guests, organize and execute field recordings, and review recorded material and shape final episodes, adding voice-over elements and sound design. You will also oversee the work of contractors and agency resources.
You will contribute ideas for new series, formats, audio innovations, and techniques for audience development. In this role, it is vital for you to play an active role in the McKinsey media community (e.g., sharing and implementing best practices.).
