You will leverage your experience in the healthcare and life science industry to act as a thought partner to client teams and clients on a wide range of topics, including commercial strategy, research and development, and operations.
You will be based in our Shanghai office in China as part of our global Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice and Client Capabilities Network.
Colleagues in our global Client Capabilities Network deliver distinctive client impact through assets and expertise and are driven by a culture of innovation.
Within our Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice, you’ll be part of our team’s global Healthcare Intelligence team across analytics, knowledge, capabilities, and insights. The SHaPE practice helps clients across the healthcare industry on strategy development and execution. You will have the opportunity to work along the healthcare value chain, from providers and payers to life science companies (e.g. Commercial, R&D, and Operations, as well as a host of functional joint ventures).
You will conduct industry analyses, stay up to date with industry developments, and support our consultants in applying cutting-edge industry knowledge to client problem-solving. Additionally, you will directly serve clients in your areas of expertise.
Furthermore, you will develop innovative tools, solutions, and analytical products to enhance the impact of our client work, becoming a trusted thought partner for both consultants and clients. You will have access to cutting-edge data sources—both internal and external—and will utilize proprietary McKinsey analytical modules to uncover new insights and opportunities that drive impact. Your findings will be synthesized into McKinsey-formatted deliverables, including written memos, numerical analyses, and presentations.

Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues—at all levels—will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won’t find anywhere else.
When you join us, you will have:
