You will leverage your expertise to solve some of the most pressing and complex issues for clients. You will be staffed on client studies, using your expertise to develop insights and recommendations. You may own a workstream or a piece of a workstream overseeing junior colleagues.
You'll work closely with client executives, traditional McKinsey client service teams and sector teams to develop recommendations based on the findings and ultimately drive implementation and change.
You will participate in client development for both current and new clients through meetings and workshops on topics of interest. You will write proposals for new client engagements as well as participate in or lead key internal knowledge-building initiatives, conferences, and client workshops.
You will be based in Hanoi office as part of the Global Energy & Materials (GEM) practice. As part of GEM, you will work with and be part of a team of experts who possess deep knowledge and experience in the energy and materials sectors.
GEM practice serves a diverse array of clients in the energy and materials sectors including those involved in agriculture, chemicals, electric power, materials production, and oil & gas. The practice operates globally, providing a platform for exposure to international markets and a diverse set of professionals from around the world. These professionals work closely with clients to tailor solutions that meet their specific needs and help them navigate market complexities.
You'll work closely with client executives, McKinsey client project teams and sector teams to develop recommendations and ultimately drive sustainable and inclusive growth.

  • Undergraduate degree preferably in engineering or closely related specialty; graduate degree is a plus
  • 9+ years of experience working within agriculture, chemicals, electric power and natural gas, oil and gas, and/or materials; strong trajectory of building on that base
  • Solid problem-solving skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, develop hypotheses and actionable recommendations from data and analysis (focused on area of expertise)
  • Ease in approaching issues from a top management view and discussing them in the overall context of a business
  • Ability to absorb rapidly and grapple with a wide range of complex business issues (in area of expertise)
  • Effective communicator and presenter, able to facilitate small meetings
