Your Impact

You will join our Orphoz team in Jakarta, a part of McKinsey's rapidly expanding execution service line launched in Asia in October 2021.
As a Consultant, you will work in teams deployed to ongoing transformation projects at public or private sector clients. These projects can be 6-18 months long, where our objective will be to help ensure our client outcomes are achieved and frontline capabilities embedded in the client organization, while working flexibly within client teams, building broad client trust, and showcasing our project management competence.
In this role, you will serve as key contact for specific workstream(s) within a project and will independently manage and ensure the quality of the project work, also reporting progress to and seeking guidance from your Delivery Manager. As an Orphoz Consultant, you’ll be on the front lines of real transformation, driving lasting change alongside clients, solving complex problems, and seeing the tangible impact of your work on operations, people, and performance.
You will work closely with the McKinsey Orphoz leadership and serve as a thought partner to senior clients, often engaging directly with CxOs, GMs, and functional VPs, to drive frontline change and deliver real operational impact. Through this, you will develop a CxO-level problem-solving mindset, sharpen your implementation skills, and gain firsthand experience in leading transformation on the ground. You will also support end-to-end diagnostic studies and delivery, while coaching client teams along the way. Your role requires working closely with client teams on-site, which may involve placements in remote or industrial locations.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, or other technical areas with a strong record of academic achievement
  • 3+ years of professional experience, including project delivery within transformation context, business planning, production forecasting, process improvements, or operational planning
  • Qualifications such as Lean Six Sigma, project management certifications (e.g. PMP, Prince2), familiarity with digital tool platform (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, SAP, MES systems), and background in operation/ industrial engineering are desirable
  • Sector exposure one or more of the following topics: frontline improvement programs in mining, metals processing, O&G, power, or manufacturing; examples of topics include change or transformation programs, category management improvements, lean or i4.0 productivity program delivery, operational improvement projects
  • Experience in programs with a strong digital or tech component, where you routinely worked with front-line operations teams and conducted workshops
  • Action driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and local office language(s), with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels
