Your Impact

You will be a thought leader and expert practitioner delivering project/program management for very large capital projects utilizing continuous improvement methodologies.
This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise across industries and have a significant impact across the CapEx value chain. This could include applying your managerial expertise of large capital construction projects with deep expertise in bottom-up design, design optimization, risk management, contracting & procurement, and ramp-up of production processes in capital intensive industries. Other examples are delivering lean/Six Sigma project implementations and capability-building in the context of the overall wave/project/continuous improvement effort or developing short and long-term capability-building plans for all relevant levels of client leadership with anticipated deliverables, outcomes, and required resources.
You’ll be working with McKinsey’s Operations practice in our Seoul office. Our Operations practice assists our clients in solving complex operational challenges. Blending strategic thinking with hands-on practicality, our teams of consultants and experts work to develop and implement operational strategies that solve our clients' most critical problems.
Capital Productivity is a rapidly growing service line with deep functional expertise focusing on issue of capital allocation and portfolio optimization: business case, concept, and design optimization; procurement and contracting; construction, commissioning, and ramp-up; and organizational capabilities, tools and processes to deliver significant and sustainable cost benefits for our clients.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field; MBA is preferred
  • 6+ years experience in industry or consulting environment
  • Industry expertise in Metals, Mining, Oil & Gas, or Energy sectors
  • Demonstrated career trajectory and outstanding professional achievement and impact
  • Proficiency in industrial engineering, construction management, contractor management, design optimization, procurement and commissioning
  • Proven track record and expertise delivering large CapEx projects (>$100MM) across the entire project life cycle
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively in English and Korean
