Client Strategy Specialist

  • Tokyo

You will work closely with sector and practice leaders, senior office leadership, and Client Committee members to help shape and support the execution of McKinsey Japan's client strategy—contributing to Client Committee agenda planning and coordination, supporting strategic initiatives, and helping enable growth across sectors and practices.
At its core, your work will help the office identify, prioritize, and act on its most important growth and client-impact opportunities. You will help ensure that Client Committee priorities are translated into office-level action, support sector and practice leaders with timely and proactive input on growth opportunities and client priorities, and help build greater transparency of pipeline and opportunity information to inform leadership decision-making.
While you will work closely with Finance and People teams, your focus will be on supporting the client strategy and growth agenda that informs office’s most critical decisions, and helping ensure strong linkage between Client Committee priorities and execution.
Your responsibilities will include supporting Client Committee agenda planning and coordination, contributing to strategic initiative management and execution, helping structure problems and organize priorities for the office's growth agenda, and supporting office-level priority practice areas—including our Digital practice and other strategic client-capability practices—with a bias toward practical, scalable outcomes.
As Tech and AI continue to reshape how we create impact, your work also offers the opportunity to help rethink how our office processes and operations could work with AI capabilities from the ground up—rather than simply automating or streamlining existing workflows. You will help conceptualize what new, AI-native ways of working could look like, and contribute directly to building and implementing the tools and lightweight AI products (including through hands-on, vibe coding approaches using AI tools) that bring those ideas to life—connecting these efforts back to the office's broader strategic initiatives agenda.
You will work across sectors, practices, and leadership groups, helping build trusted relationships and support the mobilization of stakeholders around shared strategic priorities.
Additionally, you will be required to work in person and travel as needed.

You are someone who thrives in a high-performance environment, bringing a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to tackle meaningful challenges that have a real impact.
