McKinsey Q&A: Paula

– Meet Paula, a new partner in our Sao Paulo office:

Interviewer: What are you most looking forward to as a new partner?

Paula: Attending new partner orientation – a training the firm offers to all newly elected leaders. It’s a great opportunity to sharpen my analytic and relationship building skills and reconnect with my colleagues. I’m also looking forward to continuing to drive our pharmaceutical and medical products work in Latin America, especially Brazil. It’s a top market for many of my multinational corporation clients to explore.

Interviewer: What’s on your Kindle?

Paula: I confess to eclectic taste: Leaving Time, Edge of Eternity, Lean In, The Essential Drucker, Capital in the Twenty-First Century, and the House of Special Purpose.

Interviewer: What do you consider your hometown and what makes it special?

Paula: I’m from Belo Horizonte, the capital of the Minas Gerais. It means ‘Beautiful Horizon’ and is surrounded by mountains. Even though I moved away 18 years ago, I still feel protected and peaceful whenever I’m in the mountains.
