The People and Human Resources function is key to achieving the firm’s mission to attract, develop, excite, and retain exceptional people. We have more than 1,800 colleagues in the function spanning talent, recruitment, professional development, learning, and human resources teams, dedicated to supporting the firm’s current and next generation of colleagues.

Recruitment

Our people are our greatest strength. We’re passionate about helping candidates find their fit, attracting a diverse array of talent, and recruiting individuals who create impact and contribute to our collaborative culture.

Learning

Our team supports colleagues’ learning and development at every stage of their career. We work with leaders to identify the skills their teams need to grow, stay agile and adapt to change. Then we design and deliver training and learning programs to help each colleague reach their full potential.

Human Resources

We’re trusted advisors who work to build a great firm that develops and retains exceptional people. Using our knowledge of complex HR issues, we support the firm’s leaders and our 30K+ professionals. We aim to improve the experience of every colleague whether they are starting their career at McKinsey, creating a new path here, managing teams, or navigating employment and other regulations around the world.

Professional Development

Our team manages the full range of professional development and staffing activities. Acting as a thought partner and advisor to our consultants and leaders throughout the firm, our professional development team guides our colleagues’ growth, career opportunities, capability building, and development.

People Operations

In addition to day-to-day HR support for colleagues, we partner with teams and colleagues, continually defining and improving core processes across the firm so our people can be at their best.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our team focuses on creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment in which every colleague feels supported, respected, and has a sense of belonging. We embed equity and inclusion into the firm’s processes including recruitment, retention, sponsorship, advancement, and our internal colleague networks.
