At McKinsey, we are dedicated to ensuring that every candidate has an objective and fair interview experience, where you can showcase what makes you truly unique.
To help us uphold the integrity of our process, we expect that in any assessment or interview, including those done virtually, candidates will:
- participate alone – without assistance from others including impersonation
- only use one screen without overlays
- be on camera and disable any virtual backgrounds or blurring features
- position the camera to show your full upper body and hands as you take notes and perform calculations
- use only pen and paper for notetaking and calculations (please note that we may ask to review your notes during the interview to better understand your thought process)
- discard any notes taken during the assessments/interviews
We also expect candidates to refrain from:
- recording any portion of their assessment/interview or taking screenshots
- using any applications or websites, generative AI, a calculator, or prepared notes; please disable any previously installed AI software that may unintentionally record or assist with the interview
- sharing information about the content of their assessment/interview with others (such as specific questions, problem solving scenarios)
Except in cases where an accommodation for a disability is approved by McKinsey, engaging in any of these actions may result in disqualification from our process, rescinding of an offer, restrictions on future applications, or legal action.
If you have any questions or need further clarification before attesting to these expectations, please reach out to your recruiting contact.
