Across 17 offices in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, McKinsey helps leading multinationals build and grow successful businesses in the region. We work to develop champions in major industries and nurture the talent of the next generation.

Should you be selected, you will be invited to join a bespoke program that will give you the opportunity to connect with talented women from across the region, gain insights into working at McKinsey, and receive extensive interview preparation.

Eligibility

We are looking for women who are based in, or have strong ties to Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa —for example if you have lived, studied, or worked in the region and speak the local language(s)—and who:

  • are studying for a bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, or MBA, or are working professionals holding at least one of these educational qualifications
  • thrive when working with others
  • enjoy problem-solving and creative thinking
  • are comfortable driving independent workstreams

Program Offerings

Should you be selected, you will be invited to:

  • local networking events to meet McKinsey colleagues and connect with peers
  • group coaching sessions where you will learn about McKinsey’s personal-experience interview, practice solving business cases and reflect on how to approach your interviews with a positive mindset.
  • soft-skills capability building sessions with McKinsey Academy coaches

Applying

To apply, please submit the following by December 15, 2022:

  • Your resume in English (ideally one-page), which should include your education details and grades, work experience, and extracurricular activities and achievements. Please note that a cover letter is not required.
  • Your office or industry preferences*

*When you apply, you will be asked to choose up to three office locations or business functions. Colleagues from these offices and functions, also known as industry practices, will review your application, and consider whether to invite you for interviews. We recommend you choose based on geographic or industry ties, such as having studied or lived in the country, or having work experience in the industry. In most cases, you should be fluent in the local language of the office.

Assessment & Interviews

As part of your application, you will be asked to complete our online digital assessment, known as Solve. This does not require any preparation or prior business knowledge. More details will be shared after submitting your application.

Selected candidates will be invited to interviews, which will be held in 2023 on a rolling basis. These will include at least two conversations with McKinsey colleagues.

Finding Your Ideal Role

You can either apply as a generalist consultant to any of our offices across Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, or if you have industry experience, you can apply for a business function consulting role.

The majority of roles are available across multiple offices in the region, but where they are only available in certain offices, this will be made clear. Please note that for some business function roles, not all locations are available.

Generalist Consulting

Generalist consultants work on a broad range of topics and have not yet specialized in a specific field. In these roles, you will help our clients in the private, public, and social sectors solve some of their most pressing problems. You will also work with a range of experts in the firm, from data scientists and researchers to software and app designers.

Practice Consulting

Practice consultants work on a broad range of topics same as a generalist consultant however since they have already gained experience in a specific field they have an opportunity to deepen their expertise in this area. In these roles you will help our clients in the private, public, and social sectors solve some of their most pressing problems.

Implementation

From implementing on-site workforce safety protocols, to building capabilities to lead during times of change, to regenerating stalled sales pipelines and reenergizing cost and productivity initiatives, we are helping organizations identify the change required to succeed and working with them to unlock the next level of performance.

McKinsey’s Operations Practice sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and transformation to deliver sustainable and inclusive growth. We connect boardroom strategies to the frontline—infusing technology where and when it matters and rapidly delivering lasting transformations enabled by capability building.

Africa Social Sector

We work with social sector and government organizations to improve the lives and livelihoods of their citizens, driving transformations that have a significant, positive impact on society.
