McKinsey Global Institute estimates that one-third of the jobs created in the last 25 years in the U.S. did not previously exist, and 50% of today’s work activity can be partially automated by known technologies. The “Gig Economy” will exceed 40% of the workforce by 2020. 84% of baby boomers expect to work past the traditional retirement age, and 58% of millennials say that meaningful work is the most important consideration for a career.
