Gregory brings more than ten years of experience in McKinsey’s solutions group and has led Wave, McKinsey’s program-management platform, since 2013. Wave is a web-based software and services solution that ensures companies across all industries quickly and efficiently execute large-scale transformation programs by tracking initiatives and their impact from the idea phase through execution.
As the global leader of Wave, Gregory has increased the number of users 30 times what it was in 2013. The platform has become the most broadly deployed solution at the firm today, with more than 100,000 users across 60 countries. The Wave platform not only helps companies to achieve immediate results in their transformation efforts but also continues to drive value over time.
Examples of Gregory’s client work with the Wave team include the following:
- collaborating with the leadership of a health-insurance company to bolster its digital transformation and growth by allowing 5,000 users to track more than 5,200 initiatives with Wave, with a planned impact of $64 billion over the lifetime of the transformation
- establishing a framework to measure and monitor a cost-reduction transformation at a chemical company, providing the client’s globally dispersed business units the ability to track the life cycle of more than 3,000 initiatives from ideation to execution since 2012
- helping a global paint and specialty-chemical company implement tracking for its Lean Six Sigma performance-improvement program, using Wave to manage its continuous-improvement, growth, and eco-reduction initiatives across 1,500 users over five years
- supporting a multinational technology company in tracking integration activities and capturing synergies as part of an international acquisition, with the use of Wave by globally dispersed teams in the merger-management effort
Prior to leading Wave, Gregory was head of the market-development team of the McKinsey Solutions Office Incubator. In this role, he shaped the overall strategy for producing and bringing to market the highest-potential solutions. He led the team developing new solutions through cutting-edge technology platforms, oversaw the development pipeline, drove the negotiation process for external partnerships, and managed the sales process for fully developed solutions. In his five years heading the market-development team, it launched more than 30 solutions.
Before that, Gregory was a consultant in the firm’s Brussels office, where he served clients throughout Europe across functions—including strategy, operations, marketing, and sales—in the retail, logistics, banking, and telecommunications sectors.
Gregory is fluent in both English and French.
