Works with clients to achieve performance transformations, with a focus on organisation and system design, culture, and performance management

About Emma

Emma joined McKinsey in 2004 and has worked with a broad range of public sector, healthcare, and mining clients across the UK, US, Europe, and Australia. She is a leader in our Healthcare Practice in Australia and has a particular depth of experience working with public sector healthcare providers.

Emma’s focus is on major performance transformations, helping individuals and organisations to reach their full potential by fine-tuning the settings that can really make organisations ‘tick’—organisation design, culture, and performance management. Examples of Emma’s recent work include:

  • Designing a new model for healthcare funding for the health department of one of the largest states in the US, together with its key payor/provider stakeholders
  • Helping the largest public health system in the US to substantially reduce outpatient waiting lists
  • Designing and implementing a large-scale randomized controlled trial of improved ways to deliver integrated primary care to people with diabetes
  • Helping a global mining company to significantly improve throughput by redesigning the organization to enable quicker, more integrated decision making
  • Helping turnaround an underperforming mining company through a comprehensive performance transformation

Emma is also passionate about helping develop female leaders and has led work on this topic both within McKinsey and externally, including work on the specific challenges faced by women in developing countries.
