McKinsey would like to offer you an opportunity to apply for the Indigenous leaders scholarship and internship—a program designed to recognise talent and diversity.
We believe in developing outstanding leaders who are passionate about creating impact. We want to support your personal and professional growth through a $15,000 scholarship and a paid consulting internship in one of our Australian or New Zealand offices. In certain situations, Indigenous Cadetship Support can be facilitated.
Who you'll work with
You'll work in one of our Australia or New Zealand offices for eight weeks. You'll work as part of a client project team, collaborating with colleagues and clients to solve their toughest business problems.
When you join McKinsey as an Intern, you are joining a firm that will challenge you and invest heavily in your professional development. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on teams and help the best organisations in the world—across the private, public, and social sectors—solve some of their most difficult problems. You will also work with a range of experts in the firm, from data scientists to researchers to software and app designers.
What you'll do
You’ll work on a client team, playing an active role in all aspects of the client engagement. This includes gathering and analysing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. Interns receive frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams.
You will work with your McKinsey colleagues and with the client team, owning a distinct piece of the project. Some examples of the specific work may include interviewing clients, leading client teams, building financial models, creating and delivering presentations, and working with McKinsey subject experts to develop perspectives and insights for the client.
You will receive the following support:
- coaching and mentorship will be an integral part of your development at McKinsey
- peers will give you feedback and partners will help you grow and plan the next several years of your career
- you will be assigned an interview buddy and invited to our interview case-coaching workshop
- you will have the chance to connect with past scholarship winners
To be eligible for the scholarship and internship you must have the following characteristics:
- be an Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Pasifika, or Maori student in a undergraduate or postgraduate degree study
- be a problem solver who enjoys being challenged
